GOD FORBID: Video Interview With BYRON DAVIS Posted Online
May 12, 2009Todd Cardini of HeavyMetalSource.com conducted an interview with vocalist Byron Davis of New Jersey metal titans GOD FORBID at the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival, which was held in April in Worcester, Massachusetts. Watch the nine-minute chat below.
Guitarist Dallas Coyle quit GOD FORBID last month following an argument with his brother, fellow GOD FORBID axeman Doc. Doc said in a statement, "The disagreement [between me and Dallas] became angry on both sides, and he decided to sit out the tour the day we were supposed to leave. We later learned he did not want to tour anymore at all. Everyone in the band, including myself, was upset and shocked. For me, it's a lot tougher because he's my brother and I have a very close bond with him. We've done everything together our whole lives, so it's difficult to deal with emotionally but I understand he has bigger responsibilities at home to care for. I wish he would've handled it in a different way, but I am not angry at him for leaving if he is unhappy with our situation. I really hope he finds success and happiness in his future pursuits."
Former DARKEST HOUR axeman Kris Norris is playing second guitar for GOD FORBID during the No Fear Energy Tour, which kicked off on April 2 in Phoenix, Arizona.
GOD FORBID's new album, "Earthsblood", sold around 5,400 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan, to land at position No. 110 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD debuted at No. 2 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200. The album has shifted 15,000 units in the U.S. since its February 24 release.
